Case Study: Contract Performance

Industry: Cleaning and Property (National)


Issue of Concern: Client has a major contract which has attached to it a range of incentives for the improvements in OHS and directly the frequency of loss and duration rates as they apply to time lost incidents.


Timing: This contract commenced January 2005


Agreed Resolution: The client retained WCD to manage the entire claims and injury management function inclusive of providing all the staff to implement strategies. An important element in this agreed path was clear CEO involvement in the process, a revised plan of collaboration with their claims agent and a training and awareness regime being introduced amongst senior and line management as to their inputs.  


Outcomes: The approach took several months to implement however at the first performance review (12 months from contract commencement) the client earned substantial incentives in every category area (9 in total) available to them. Whilst given new and more difficult targets the clients have again achieved incentives in each of the 9 areas available to them.


Current Position post Resolution: This organisation continues to pursue the various initiatives which brought about these savings. These are examined at the commencement of each new year of the contract and specific strategies set in place to pursue the maximum available incentive is earned by them via our collective efforts.
